The evidence you need is not always missing. Sometimes the evidence already exists, but is dispersed across research, data, programme experience and perspectives that have not yet been brought together.
Evidence & BEYOND designs and leads rigorous, methodologically sound research and evaluation studies, synthesises existing evidence, and tests the strength of what is already known. This gives organisations a credible understanding of what is happening, why it matters, and what can be learned.
We also support learning during implementation, so organisations can use emerging insights to adapt and strengthen programmes as they are delivered.
The evidence and learning generated here can strengthen a programme, shape a strategy or solution, reveal a capability need, or support wider evidence use and uptake. Partners may also return to research or evaluation later when implementation raises a new question.
This is where evidence and learning are translated into strategies, policies, programmes, and practical solutions. Evidence & BEYOND works alongside partners to co-design responses that are evidence-informed, relevant to their context, and feasible to implement.
From the outset, we consider the people who will use and deliver the solution, the systems and capabilities already in place, available resources, implementation conditions, ownership, and sustainability. The result is a solution that is technically sound, practical, and ready to be put into action.
Partners may come to us with evidence that now needs a practical response, or with an existing strategy, policy, programme, or solution that needs strengthening or adaptation. The work may then connect to capacity strengthening, implementation learning, evaluation, or research uptake, depending on what is needed next.
A workshop can fill notebooks, energise a room, and still leave everyday practice completely untouched. Real capability appears in what teams can confidently do once the presentation ends.
Evidence & BEYOND helps organisations build the knowledge, skills, systems, and confidence to put evidence-informed approaches into practice. Through training, coaching, mentoring, accompaniment and hands-on technical support, we help teams apply what they learn and keep improving.
Capacity strengthening may support the implementation of a new strategy or programme, respond to a capability gap identified through research or evaluation, or begin as a standalone need within an organisation.
Credible evidence is important. But if it does not reach the right people, answer their questions, or enter the processes where decisions are made, its influence will remain limited.
Evidence & BEYOND helps partners create the conditions for research and learning to be understood, discussed, and used. We identify the people who need the evidence, develop research uptake strategies, support stakeholder engagement and policy dialogue, and strengthen relationships between researchers, practitioners, and decision-makers.
We also translate complex findings into policy briefs, toolkits, digital resources, and other formats designed around how different audiences access and use information. Where needed, we strengthen the capacity of organisations and decision-makers to engage with evidence confidently and apply it within policy, programme, and organisational processes.
This work can be built into research from the outset, begin with completed research that needs a clearer route into use, or build on evidence and learning generated through another stage of our work.
